SUMMER is HeRe !!

IT is that time of year....the time to relax by the pool and just waste the days away. Today Mitchell got some fresh pool toys and we piled into the car and played at the pool for a couple of hours. I would have stayed longer...but I want him rested for baseball practice tonight. Yesterday he played in the pool in the late afternoon and he came home and slept for 4 hours until 9:00pm !!! I found these toypedo's fun to play with. Mitchell's favorite was the new foam surf boards.
I want to be here!!!!!
We are planning another trip to Hawaii for NEXT year....I am not sure I can wait that long. Hawaii is one of those places that you either hate and can't wait to leave or you love so much that it gets in your blood and you yearn for it like a long lost love. Scott spends much of his free time reading travel guides and planning our perfect vacation. I think he even has the days planned out and what we are to do each day so that we don't miss a thing....me...I just want to feel the sand between my toes and watch the sun come up over the horizon.
Untill next summer....I will keep dreaming by the pool as I am being bombed by splash footballs and wish I was feeling the sand between my toes in Hawaii.

BIG UPDATE TO MY OTHER STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK? HOW do you thing my last story could be improved on?

Part 2...Mitchell's playoff game today. Mitchell up at the plate...we are losing 5 to 2!!! (the season will be over if they lose)

His best friend Parker is there watching and feeling our pain. Parker heads to the outfield out of the fence to give Mitchell good luck......yes.....you guessed it.....

MITCHELL HIT HIS FIRST EVER OUT OF THE PARK HOME RUN!!!!!!

I couldn't have written a better ending! We ended up winning 5-7 (Another friend hit a homer out after Mitchell) So these 2 bud's each hit their first ever "out of the Park" Homeruns in the same week, with their best friend out there to bring the ball back.

I have video footage... I will post it after I get back to Earth.
The only sad note is that Parker fell on an equipment bag right after that and we think his wrist is broken!!

Parker's team went on to beat us, 2 to 1 We are out of the play-offs getting 3rd place. But Mitchell's season doesn't end. He made alternate for the "All Star" travel team and will keep playing for another month. If someone get's injured or quits, he will take their place on the traveling team.

Mitchell's Best Buddy

Mitchell's best friend Parker lives in the neighborhood beside us. They are too far away from each other to walk...but hang out a lot. They are also in the same class at school (Poor Ms. Kosky) These pictures are from Field day at school. Our team won the tug-o-war over all for the 2nd grade (small but competitive boys)

Anyway, Wednesday night Mitchell decided to go to the ball field to cheer for his friend Parker's game. (even though if they won, we would have to eventually play them in the tournament) Parker is little but a good athlete...however Parker had never hit an out of the park homerun. So Parker is the lead off batter of the game.

Mitchell talks to him in the dug out for a pep talk and says "I am going behind the fence in the out field, this will bring you luck"

Parker "Ok, Mitch, I will hit one to ya"

I had to laugh at this banter and even worried that Mitchell might be a distraction to Parker behind the fence. Second swing....Parker hits a homerun over the fence...and Mitchell catches it for him!! Mitchell got to proudly bring Parker his very first "Home run ball"

It was a moment best friends NEVER forget!!

Mother's Day Reflections

Today I am reflecting on my mother's day and what each of my children had to "give". I find it very interesting how each of my children managed to make me feel special in their own
"unique way".
We are always told how spirits are given to us, and that we can't choose who they are. We can help to mold them and guide them, but they come to earth with very different personalities.

Mitchell
Made a giant card at school. He tried to sneak in the garage door on Friday afternoon so that he could hide his card. But he became so excited to show me the card, that he gave it too me on Friday afternoon.

Lindsey
Wanted to buy me a gift but didn't ask her dad early enough to help her. She spent a couple of late hours on the computer on Saturday night making me a power point presentation to show me how much she loved me. It made me laugh, and that is sooo Lindsey.

Sarah
Wrote me the most wonderful letter any mother could ever get from her daughter. It made me cry and cry and I will cherish it for years. She also, wanted to buy me a gift, but had given me ALL her money for the accident she had last week...I think that is more than enough...to give all that she had.

Meagan
Couldn't wait to call me, and actually called me BEFORE church got out. Fortunately my phone was on vibrate so I didn't disturb Relief Society..but I could feel the phone vibrating in my purse and I KNEW it was her calling me. That made me smile! We were able to talk on the phone on my way home from Church. Just that simple act of a phone call from Meagan is something I will NEVER take for granted.

Scott
Made me breakfast in Bed. Ok...I had already taken a shower because we were going to be late for church, and I bought all of my favorite food so that he could easily pull them out of the fridge....but he still took the time to make it, and I love and appreciate his efforts each year. This one was a hard one for him having just lost his mom.

Today....as they all leave me with the mess of the weekend to clean up...I count my blessings and feel so very thankful for my wonderful family!!! I am truly one of the luckiest women on Earth!

Mitchell Hits A HOMERUN !!!!!

I have to write about this moment!!!! Last night we had a late game. (8:00). Mitchell has really missed out on alot this season. Having missed some Sunday make-up games and then missing games during the Funeral, we have really felt like this season was a waste of time and money. We only had 3 games left in the season and last night I went out of obligation to our commitment to the team. Mitchell walked the first time up to bat. He even got to walk home. But we were losing very bad! By the time Mitchell got up to the plate the second time, we were losing 8 to 5! We had just about written this game off. There were 2 outs and Mitchell was at a full count on the pitch. I had stood up to walk to the dugout (to console him when he struck out)...I heard the distictinctive "POP" that the bat makes when you get a really good hit! I looked to see the ball FLYING up the 1st baseline. At first I felt sure it would go foul....but as I watched, I realized it was going fair and might even go out of the park. Unfortunately it didn't go out of the park...it hit the fence in the outermost corner of the field. Mitchell was at 3rd base before they could even throw it back. He started to run for home but they held him for a second to see the throw. The catcher missed, and he dashed to homeplate! I was screaming so hard it hurt! This really put some momentum in the moment and....We went on to WIN the game 8 to 9. NOW THAT WAS BASEBALL!!!! It was probably the best game I have ever watched (and I have watched alot)
