Somewhere Over The Rainbow

We were blessed today with a wonderful storm to soak our drought ridden area.
This is a look at our home with a beautiful rainbow out stretching so far
that I couldn't get the entire rainbow in the photo.
(Sure wish I had a wide angle lens...because it was a complete and perfect rainbow)

It reminded me of a couple of songs
as my children and I stood outside in the drizzle to enjoy the beautiful creation.
One of the songs that came to mind was
"Some where over the rainbow"
Our home truly looked like a rainbow was blessing it today!

Then one of my favorite primary songs came to my mind...
"I Like to Look For Rainbows"

I Like to Look for Rainbows, Whenever there is rain
And ponder on the Beauty
of
an Earth made clean again.
I want my life to be as clean as Earth right after rain
I want to be the best I can
And Live with God again.
I have been feeling pretty ungrateful this week.
My house is now over 7 years old,
I have started to look at it with the eyes of....oh I wish I had a new house,
new carpet, new furniture, fresh paint on the inside.....the list could go on and on.
But with one rainstorm...
my father in Heaven told me how much my home is a place of love.
It is our heaven on Earth...old paint and all!!!! Thanks for the reminder Lord!

Girls Camp Fun

I found some pictures of Sarah from Girls camp!
I am still looking for ones of Lindsey.
Sarah's friend posted these on her Facebook.
Isn't girls camp fun?!?!? You get to look your worst!
Or Very worst!!!
Shhsh....I am am not sure...but I think....
the girls in our ward must be "special" if you know what I mean! :)
I was planning on using this photo as future blackmail!
Let's say when she has a hot date!
Maybe not a date I want her to go on...
I will pull out the "Girls Camp" photos in hopes the
boy will "High Tail It" and run!

This was Sarah's "Big Prank"
that she will talk about for years to come
and even tell her children and her children's children about.
She and her partners in crime
managed to steal the majority of the bras from everyone at camp.
They ran most of them up the flagpole
...then they had the task of passing them all back to their rightful owners.
Tear..Sniff...she makes a mother so proud!

This was a program that the
JC and 4th year girls put on for the rest of the camp.
I hear that it was wonderful.
I will post pictures of Lindsey if someone gives me any!

"I Love to see the Temple..."

We went this morning to the Atlanta Temple with Mitchell and the Primary. Sarah and Lindsey were sleeping away the "girls camp hang-over". I know it looks like they don't exist in our family. I had planned to post alot of fun girls camp pictures, but Sarah forgot to put an SD card in her camera!
Our primary is about 4 times this size! This is just the ones that came today. Mostly Primary Presidency's children and Bishopric's children.
Mitchell in front of the corner stone. Notice the dates..1981-1983. I was there as a youth for the ground breaking, and I was there at the dedication. Now my son is kneeling beside that cornerstone 25 years later.
After the time at the temple, all the families had a picnic lunch behind the temple and just hung out and had a great time. Notice Mitchell running! All the boys in this shot are the son's of members of the Bishopric. All the sweet little girls in the shot are daughter's of the primary presidency. I am reminded of a time that Scott and I sat in this very lawn with Meagan when her Primary came for a temple trip with she was 7. Her primary came down from Nashville and we were so excited to see her for the day.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Here is a quick shot of Mitchell's All-Star team
Mitchell is bottom row second from the right.
Note...he is the second shortest and he was proud
that he wasn't the shortest!!

One with one of his best Buddies Andrew.

"Hey Now..You're An All-Star"

As Promised...Here are photo's of Mitchell's 15 minutes of fame.
The Rest of the team will play in a tournament this weekend...We are thinking of putting a hit on one of the boys so he can "step in" :)
White pants...not fun to keep clean....and they were so big I had to have them altered just for one weekend of play!
We had 2 uniforms. The boys actually liked their gold ones better than their red. They called themselves the "Disco Hawks". The gold ones were only suppose to be practice jersey's. But everyone loved the way the boys looked in that color
Mitchell was lucky enough to get one inning of "catching" thanks to a wonderful coach that knew he wanted it more than anything in the world. (They have 3 other catchers on the team)
It was such a miserably hot day!!!!

Mitchell got a cool gold helmet...I think this was the deciding factor in being the alternate...bragging rights next season with the "all-star" helmet and bat bag!
We are so happy he had this opportunity even it if was just for one weekend...3 games!!Their team won every game, so it looks like they will do well in the other tournaments.

Busy with baseball

I don't have any cool photos to upload today. I have been rushing around all week long taking Mitchell to baseball practice after practice after practice....did I say we had been to practice? We live at Bogan Park. I am seriously considering changing my address to Bogan and saving money on rent and utilities. For those of you that don't know. Mitchell made the "All Star" team for his division. Technically he only made alternate. He has been so good and firm about not playing or practicing on Sunday's that he couldn't be the regular on the team. He gets to work out with the team, and gets all the fun things the team gets. He just won't be able to play in the Dixie Tourney. The Buford Invitational is this weekend and he gets to play in that one. Then....if someone can't make a game he gets to play in their place. Sounds like all work with no reward right? Wrong! The amount of growth and improvement in his skills is amazing just from the hard practices these past few weeks. I am proud of his attitude! Last night he only got up to bat one time, and only got to field one time....but he came out of the dugout after the game with a smile from ear to ear! I am so proud of my boy, for his good sportmanship and his willingness to put in a lot of hard work with out the glory! It is building a wonderful young man!
